Etidronic acid is widely used in biochemistry and for agricultural machinery as it has few indisputable advantages:

- Structurally it is similar to naturally occurring polyphosphates. When exposed to sunlight the chemical reagent splits into compounds which are used by plants as a nutrient’s source;

- It is antivirally and antibacterially active, stimulates plant’s growth;

- It is suitable for agricultural machinery for soil with any acidity level;

- It is perfect for greenhouse facilities as it doesn’t clog pipes for nutritive liquids with salt deposits.

The main field of application is water-treatment. Chemical reagent acts as a salt deposit, especially carbonates, retardant after being dissolved in water. Etidronic acid is widely used in systems of hot-water supply, in industrial cooling systems, in facilities with a closed cycle of water circulation and heat supply as well as in electro- and heating plants.

Recommendations for use:

-  The dosage of etidronic acid when it’s used as a complexing agent and as a part of salt sedimentation washing-off compositions made for technical machinery is calculated based on the results of related tests

- The concentration of etidronic acid when it’s used as a salt sedimentation inhibitor for industrial water circulation cooling systems and for heat power plants is 1-5 g/m3, for heat supply systems with closed-cycle the concentration is 0,9-3 g/m3 and for centralized hot-water supply systems, it is not more than 0,6 g/m3.

- For drip irrigation systems cleaning 1 application per week/month with an acid solution at the dosage of 60-80 g/m3 (0,6-0,8%)

- For prevention of salt sedimentation in drip irrigation systems 1 application per week/month with an acid solution at the dosage of 6-8 g/m3 (0,06-0,08%)
